The IBSSA Headquarters organised an
International Special Security Training Course between 10 - 14 September
2003 in Budapest / Hungary with the support of the Hungarian Police Academy
and the Adyliget Law Enforcement College. Besides numerous IBSSA leaders
and chief instructors from all over the world, who were present at this
professional event, many qualified bodyguards, Master Teachers and even
Instructors of the Special Unit of the Hungarian Army, and police officers
participated at the training from Hungary, Italy, Slovenia, Northern
Ireland, Singapore, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Romania and France.

The purpose of this special course was to bring the IBSSA members together
from all around the world and also non-members - who are interested in
taking part such courses - in order to change ideas, knowledge, to solve
simulated "real world" selfdefence scenarios so to test the
skill and ability of the individual, to improve physical skills, to further
develop shooting skillsand to extend professional experience.

On the 10th September (Wednesday) at 19.00 the Official Opening Ceremony
of the training course took place at the Headquarters of Adyliget Law
Enforcement College. Prof. George POPPER, GCKM (HUN) - Executive President
of IBSSA welcomed all participants and introduced the Master Teachers
of the training and the present high-ranking IBSSA officials to the attendees.
After his speech the Executive President called upon Police Colonel Mr.
István MACSÁRI (HUN) - Hungarian Police Academy, and Patronising
Member of IBSSA to hold his speech and welcome all instructors, guests
and participants on behalf of the Police Academy and the Adyliget Law
Enforcement College.
From 11th Sept. (Thursday) till 13th Sept. (Saturday) the students
took part in the following daily programs
After the early getting up and having breakfast at 7.00 AM the participants
were ready to start their training at the Headquarters of Adyliget Law
Enforcement College and at the International Training Centre of the Ministry
of Interior. There were 5 groups of people, who had the following lessons
in rotation
- Shooting with Mr. Roberto GOBBI and Dr. Olivér RÓZSA
- Driving with Mr. Roberto De RONZI and Mr. Márk KOVÁCS
- VIP protection in practice, escorting with Mr. Attila FARKAS
- Self-defence with Prof. Giacomo S. BERTOLETTI and Dr. Rony KLUGER
- VIP tactics at the International Training Centre of the Hungarian
Ministry of Interior with its Instructors and experts
The trainings were held from 8.00 until 12.00 and from 14.00 till 18.00
after having lunch. On Thursday and Saturday evening after the trainings
the students had useful and interesting lectures on new drugs and drug
prevention with Mr. József KREINER.
The Open Day with the Final Demonstration of the students took place
on the 14th September (Saturday) at the Headquarters of Adyliget Law
Enforcement College. The high-ranking leaders and officials of the "Federation
of Autonomous Priories of the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem,
Knights of Malta", in consideration of the fact that H.R.H. Prince
Michael James Alexander STEWART Count of Albany is the Honorary President
of IBSSA, attended the closing events of the II. "SEC-tember" IBSSA
International Special Security Training Course. Many IBSSA members from
Switzerland, Australia, Romania, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Italy
and Hungary also arrived to the College in order to see the professional
and exciting demonstrations and to take part at the Banquet. Just to

Numerous TV stations (Hungarian ATV, RTL Klub, Hungarian Duna Television)
reported about the demonstrations and the training course and representatives
of the media ("Népszabadság" Magazine, Shogun,
Detektor Plusz Magazine and the Italian Sportivo and Security Magazine)
will report about the training and the demonstrations soon. An IBSSA
official video record was also taken.
After the demonstrations at 14.00 Dr. István NÉMETH -
Regional Representative of IBSSA for Hungary and Instructor invited all
participants, instructors, VIPs, leaders and organizers to the Ministry
of Defence Officers Club Queen Elisabeth Restaurant, where the Closing

On the occasion of the II. "SEC-tember" IBSSA International
Special Security Training Course the IBSSA Board of Directors - in the
presence of Prof. George POPPER, GCKM, Executive President, Prof. Giacomo
Spartaco BERTOLETTI, KCM, 1st Vice President and Dr. Rony KLUGER, KM,
General Secretary - held a meeting to discuss all general matters concerning
IBSSA.
The following topics were discussed and important decisions were taken
- The 9th IBSSA Congress was planned the be held in Egypt, but due
to the war in Iraq the preliminary talks and preparations failed. The
IBSSA Board of Directors agreed to organise the forthcoming IBSSA Congress
between 28 - 30 November 2003 in Budapest / HUNGARY regarding
the short time and considering, that the IBSSA Headquarters is located
here and one of its powerful section works in this country. During
the 9th IBSSA Congress elections and renewal of IBSSA officials will
take place. The 3rd IBSSA Bodyguard Demonstrations World Championships
and the traditional instructor training seminar will also be organised
during the congress. Numerous VIP guests and high-ranking leaders will
honour the event.
- Before the 10th IBSSA Congress, which will be held in Hurghada /
EGYPT in November 2004, an Open Board Meeting with preparatory discussions
to the congress will be organised in February 2004 in Hurghada together
with diving and bodyguard training courses.

represent the association between 19 - 25 October 2003 on the occasion
of the 44th INEOA Conference and congress.
- The next official international training course will be held
between 30th October - 2nd November 2003 in Belfast / Northern

on the 20th February 2004 in Hotel Marriott in Budapest / Hungary.
