Dear IBSSA members and friends: By this time, probably, you are already aware that our long time member and friend, Prof. Giacomo Spartaco BERTOLETTI has decided to relinquish formally all his ties with IBSSA. On November 11th, 2003, Prof. Bertoletti sent an official letter to our IBSSA Headquarters presenting his unbending resignation from the following international offices: 1s t Vice President, President of IBSSA ISF, Chairman of Public Relations and Media Department, Member of Education and Qualification Department. On April 19th, 2005, Prof. Bertoletti sent an other official letter resigning from his Master Teacher position; and finally on May 2nd, 2005 in a third official letter Prof. Bertoletti presented his official and definitive resignation from his remaining IBSSA position of Country Representative of IBSSA in Italy, relinquishing at same time his Honorary Membership. When an old friend decides to leave and to cut his ties with us, we feel sad. Prof. G.S. Bertoletti joined IBSSA in 1998 and during this time he made substantial contributions, we are very thankful for it! Our Board of Directors, respecting the decisions and wishes of Prof. G.S. Bertoletti, has accepted fully his resignation and his leaving from IBSSA and send him a heartfelt farewell. It appears to be that coinciding with his separation from IBSSA, Prof. Bertoletti is starting his own Security Services organization; we wish him all the best in his new endeavour. During its ten years of existence IBSSA has grown to be a leading global organisation in the field of Security and Crime Prevention. Our long-term strategy is, and always will be, to develop, maintain, and continuously improve the professionalism of our structure. One of our main concerns is to recognize all those outstanding contributions made by our members in commercial as well as private/civil security activities. Through the years many IBSSA members has received distinctions and titles on different levels from states and public organizations. For years our Regional Representatives in Italy had managed to maintain IBSSA's good and excellent connections throughout the country. To maintain this status, and as a result of this new development, we have appointed Mr. Remo Grassetti to be our Coordinator in Italy. It is important to remember that according to the Statutes of IBSSA any person, wishing to keep his membership, recognition, or position in our structure, is entitled to contact directly the General Secretary or the Headquarters Offices. Yours sincerely, Prof. George Popper, GCKM President of the IBSSA
